Configuring UPS in Windows XP

Hi,
I have a Numeric UPS (Numeric Digital 600 Plus) and I wanted to try and configure it with WinXP so that the PC shuts down automatically after the critical period of time. But even after enabling it in the Power Options, the system does not shut down automatically. How do I do it?? Or is it necessry that I install the bundled software that came with the UPS?

Install the softwares that come bundled in the CD,the instructions will be given in that
