High-End Gaming PC
My Friend saw my new rig today and now he wants a high end gaming rig. He wants to play latest games at max resolution on multiple monitors. He is a rich guy so the budget doesn't matter. He really liked my 400R and he wants that. He sponsored my new rig in exchange of his college project which I will be making for him.
Also he wants high end speakers and each and every thing
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:High end gaming on multiple monitors games like GTA5
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: nearly 6-7 lakhs can be extened upto 9 lakhs
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:yeah
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win7/ Win8
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:1TB+SSD
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:Yes, want a multiple monitor setup
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:none
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:This month before Christmas
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:Yes I will build it for him
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Ludhiana,Punjab We can buy online or even visit Delhi
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I am thinking of i7extreme. Plz suggest some very good configPC1 AMD PhenomII X2 555(Unlocked 4 cores & overclocked 3.6Ghz) / ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 / 8GB(2x4GB)G Skill RipjawsX 1333 RAM / CM Elite 311 / CM GX550 / SONY DVD RW DRU-880S / LG E2041(1600x900) / Hitachi 320GB, WD Blue 500GB, Seagate 1TB

Re: High-End Gaming PC
what screen size are you looking at at that budget 27 inch 2500x1600 is the way to go
but if 24inch also ok then look at LG IPS237L-BN x 3 = $780 with a dual 7970 3GB $1500
LG IPS237L-BN
IMO this is the best thin bezel monitor in this price bracket
if you want vertical resolution also then get 6 of those & combine as 3x2 matrix. BTW if you go this way then you will have to get one of these multi monitor holders
too hold all those expensive components get Corsair 800D ~ $371
to provide superb clean power to all your components get Corsair AX1200i ~ $330
Spoiler:
you can go by this way alsoLast edited by avinandan012; 03-12-2012 at 07:43 PM.

Re: High-End Gaming PC
Wait for haswell and next gen gpu's if so much cash is involved. They are worth the wait.
You don't wan't a motherboard to go obsolete after few months when new cpu's are launched and that too after spending a lot of cash.Core i5 750, biostar h55 A+ (X16+X4), 4gb 1333 ddr3, corsair vx450, cm elite 335,Asus EAH 5750 FORMULA , samsung 2033 sw plus, wd green 1tb , wd 1tb my book ,Seagate freeagent ext hdd 1tb , hp dvd writer,Apc 650 va, logitech z313 , Micromax Funbook , Klipsch image S3 (IEM).

Re: High-End Gaming PC

I..was...reading the posts in this thread ....and YES I AM shocked. I imagined what could be brought forth with that budget and only thought of rigs like those seen in Iron Man movies...super-advanced technology toys
....but seriously if that Mother of God computer is built, i want to know as a humble man upon the middle steps in the staircase of technology....what will happen to the games that'd be played on that monster...? what frame rate would they render, what temperature will rise? noise?, can everything seamlessly coexist...that much power consumption?

Re: High-End Gaming PC
Man, tell him to keep 3.5 lakhs aside and get a Kawasaki NINJA 300R( I've been eyeing one!)

In remainig 3.5 lakh, he can build a monster PC that can kick all the butts!

Re: High-End Gaming PC
dude.. just tell him that he is sick of spending and nothing else..
The money he earned or his dad earned can be better utilized rather than spending it on the machines (read components) that can hardly give him any difference on naked eye when compared to a decent gaming rig.

Re: High-End Gaming PC
I would suggest spending 3.5L to the Rig itlsef as 'V2IBH2V' highlighted and use the rest to spend on an Alienware Laptop(one good way to waste money and achieve mobility and cool looks) + on A BOSE sound system for ultimate music experience.

Re: High-End Gaming PC
Time waste thread.
Ask your friend to come up with balanced requirements irrespective of the budget. Otherwise just shoot with your eyes blind and get anything - which is happening with the suggestions here.
fyi, 4 graphic cards are not needed. Just going with two HD 7970 will do.
