    Default Gaming 80k budget

    1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans: 1. Mostly gaming :- Call of duty : BO, Call of duty : MW3, Skyrim, NFS the run, BF3 maybe more if i get to know of some epic games later
    2. Cuz i'm a graphic designer i'll be doing lot of editing and stuff so i'll be using aplications like :- Adobe photoshop, corel draw, adobe premiere pro, final cut pro x.

    2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.

Ans: 80k but i can extend to 90-95 if needed (not a single rupee above that pls)

    3. Planning to overclock?

    Ans: Yes

    4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: I'll download the softwares, but one question. I'm thinking of using both "Windows and Mac" is it possible ?

    5. How much hard drive space is needed?

    Ans: 2 TB hdd and 120gb x 2 ssds

    6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.

Ans: Yes, 24'' monitor with 1920x1024 resolution and are there 24'' monitors with 2560x1600 resolution ? if not then suggest one 27'' with 2560x1600 resolution.

    7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: Keboard and mouse already have those

    8. When are you planning to buy the system?

    Ans: 1st week of july.

    9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: Nope havn't build before but i have a bit knowledge. wont be getting assemblers help.

    10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: New Delhi, Yes buying stuff locally.

    11. Anything else which you would like to say?

    Ans: Only intel build.

Okay you requirements are fair enough. About your question of installing windows and mac side by side, the answer is "yes" and it can be done. Refer the following thread:

    Hackintosh Thread

Okay now lets move to your configuration. Apart from gaming, you'll be using photoshop and premier pro. For this purpose the i5 2500k is quite capable and you can save money for a better gpu. Have a look at the following components:

Now since you'd be buying in july, the 670 should be available as well and it will cost you less than 30k for sure ( probably 28k). Get that instead of 680 as performance is similar in full hd.

Your budget is tight for 2560x1600 monitors and they cost more than 40k. Besides at those resolutions, only cards like 680, 670 and 7970 will cut it. Opting for 7870 or lesser isn't recommended as you won't be able to game at the highest settings in some resource hog titles including bf3.

And by july , i5 3570k (ivybridge) will also be available at the same price and it performs a bit better than 2500k. So you can opt for that as well.

I haven't included ssd's as they'll overshoot the budget. Keep them as future upgrades.

PS- Since i have give 1920x1080 24 inch monitor, you can save money by going for a 7870 + ssd combo. But i would recommend to wait for gtx 670.

Plz tell us your thoughts on this mate.

hey mate thanks for the reply

If a 2560x1600 resolution monitor only costs me 40k then i'll go with 24'' Monitor only with 1920x1024 resolution

i'll be extending up the budget a little bit more to 1.5 lakh ( was saving up for something else, but i don't need that now )

I want a liquid cpu cooler for the processor, i have 2 in mind corsair H80 and other is antec h20 920, but i have no idea which one is better( if there are other better one out there then please suggest)

and the 680 is too expensive, i would like to buy a gtx 570/580 instead or if i get a better price for 670 then i'll go for that.

    Now some questions.

    1. Do i really need a 850W PSU ?

    2. Does corsair 400r have good airflow and will it keep my system cool ?

^^ yeah! According to reviews, HOC20/40 performence can be compared to Corsair H80/100.
So, you can also look into HOC20.

    ^ Unbalanced bad config.
    1. Value RAM are of 1333MHz.
    2. Don't confuse OP by suggesting something like this:
    Asrock extreme 4 @ 9.5K
    What does it mean anyways?
Z77 Extreme4 have LLC problem, so bad choice.
