I've had my eyes on the tri-module Bulldozer (FX 6100) for quite a while now. It seems to suit my needs best and me being an AMD Fanboy is perhaps another reason. But at the end of the day, I'm willing to give-in to a better processor, if it justifies my needs.

I guess that's all I have to say. I'm looking forward to your swell suggestions (and proper citation to sources that influenced your decisions would be nice too).

    Thanks!

1st of all, a big no to Bulldozer, especially FX 6100. In performance it is behind 1090T and in gaming performance, it is behind Phenom II X4 processors.

    Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 @ 6.6K
    G-skill RipjawX 1600 MHz DDR3 @ 1.5K

7850s aren't available on FlipKart. I've checked with local dealers, no-one seems to have it, yet.

The tri-modules aren't that big a disappointment. I've read a few favorable reviews, notably on their performance in productivity suites. Let me add that gaming isn't top priority. I just need to have something that'll game decently.

What about a Sandy Bridge alternative? Could you list a build under that configuration.

    Intel core i5 2400 @ 11k
    G-skill RipjawX 1600 MHz DDR3 @
    1.5K
    Seagate 1 TB HDD @ 5.2K
    CM Elite 370 @ 2K
    Seasonic S12II 620 @ 4.7K
    Amakette Classic Duo Keyboard &
    Mouse Combo @ 0.4K
    Altec Lancing BXR 1221 Speaker
    @ 1.1K
    Sapphire HD 7850 2 GB GDDR5 @ 15.6K
    Total ~ 46k

For sapphire hd 7850, you should contact the distributor of it in your area. He will give you the correct info. It is Aditya infotech in Lucknow. Don't know about Chennai. Go for Sapphire HD 6950 2 GB version for same amount if you are unable to find HD 7850.
