    Seagate Go flex 500 GB is available @ 2.7-2.8K. 1 TB is out of your budget, its 5K minimum.

    Thumbs up Re: need some suggestions for portable Hard-disk

    hey man 1tb is definitely in his budget. I bought a 1tb external hard disk frm ebay six months back which was seagate freeagent for 4100 (current price 3800) so he can stretch a budget little or move to some cheaper brand.
    Also go 4 seagate as they provide 5 years warranty instead of 3 year WD warranty and u must b knowing that big sized hard disk r not stable and tend to get corrupt or damaged.

    @clmlbx

    If u are aiming for a extra portable hard drive i.e. widout power cable. Then u wud better go for seagate go flex 500GB for 2.8k.

    The other better option which i wud like to suggest is the WD my book 1 tb which needs a power cable but has a high transfer rate. This HD comes in a range of 3.5 to 4k.

    Go through this LINK u wud better get to know abt wd my book.

    Make ur decisions caredully after going through the link stated above.

    No for wd book as it needs extra power cable and it comes in 3.5 and isn't western digital passport good if not better then seagate flex. Or is it seagate better
