Exclamation Pls take a look at this config!!

    Hi,

Below is the configuration which I have chosen after careful consideration. Please give me your feedback and suggestions. My Budget is 24000. I checked the bwindia.com website for the prices. I believe the street prices will be 500 to 1000 lesser, hope fully ... If you can give me a price for the h/w i'll be very grateful. I live in Bangalore and planning to get this config at S.P Road by Dec 10th.i have not checked the prices there yet, but will do it soon.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 Ghz 1066Mhz FSB
Mercury Intel 945 GCM 1333 FSB
Cabinet Gigabyte or iBall Advanced [ budget 1200 - 1500 ] if i get them!! Basically want a spacious Cabinet.
    DVD Writer LG Sata
RAM DDR II ZION 800 Mhz 2 * 1 GB
    SMPS Mercury 450 W 24 Pin
External Hard Disk Maxtor 2.5" 160 GB
Internal Hard Disk Western Digital SATA 80 GB
    basic keyboard & Mouse
    iBall Speaker basic Woodpecker

Graphics Card ?? I am stumped!! I am not sure, please help me with this.
I am not a hardcore gamer. Chessmaster 10 is the only game i play these days !!
Suggest a basic Graphic Card! I read the Digit issue of entry level graphic cards but don't want to go beyond 24000 bucks.

What about an Integrated Graphics Card?

If I have missed anything out please let me know! Also pls list out what basic accessories that I will definitely need

Thanks in advance for your time.

    Thanks for the reply

I am warming to the config you sent...

Do I really need a 19" monitor.. Don't you have to sit quite far from the monitor if you are watching movies are playing games on a 19 " ??

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L 2.15k seems to be a good option..

My reason for going for a 80m GB internal was all i want for the HD to do is for Win XP and Ubuntu.. and space for installing applications..

Movies , Songs and Softwares and etc etc I would definitely want it to be portable!! Copying it to my pen drive and deleting again & again is a drag!! So I thought of an Xtern HD!!

How is the option of getting an 3.5" HD and a Case for it??
Why did you suggest a Dual Core Processor?? Isn't a C2D better than Dual Core??

    1. Its a far better config than u specified... by dec 10..maybe the price may get better too

    2. 19" issue??... i dont think so mate.. get the 19"..ull thank later i am sure..

    3. Yes...Mobo is a VFM

    4. Nope... Get the 250 ..or atleast 160 GB min... u can do a lot of OSes or anything..the price ratio just dont agree for a 80 GB...

    5. C2D and Dual Core both same mate ..... relax...

Unhappy Re: Pls take a look at this config!!

Ok cool !! I'll tweak my config !! I'll let you know about the progress ! cheers..

    Hey dude!!

    One more query...

    Regarding Installing WinXP Pro!!

Like I told you I would be installing Win XP on the 250 gig HD u suggested..

The problem is my Original WinXP is without SP2...

Does the motherboard u suggested come with SATA Drivers or something like that

    Mobo : Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L

If it does is it pre-installed or floppy based...

I read that you have to detect the SATA HD with BIOS then press F6 then install drivers for SATA then Install WinXP... If possible pls tell me the steps in a little detail so that I don't mess up..
