Reinstalling xp after ubuntu

i have currently a dual boot system of ubuntu8.04 and win xp.

win xp has developed some probs like always and i have to reinstall it will thsi affect my ubuntu system in any way?

i heard that GRUB could have some probs what can i do to prevent thsi from happening?

XP's bootloader will replace GRUB if you re-install XP.Meaning you will be taken directly to XP each time you boot your PC.To resolve this, Install XP, then boot into Ubuntu LiveCD and restore GRUB.
