Default Installing Ubuntu 8.04???

I am going to install ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop which is HP Pavilion DV6502au... It has the following configuration...
1. AMD Turion 64X2 running @1.8ghz
2. 1GB RAM
3. 160GB HDD
4. Nvidia 7150M GPU
5. Broadcom WLAN And HP Bluetooth
6. etc...

I have tried installing ubuntu 8.04 earlier but was unable to start compiz due to unavailability of the graphics driver... can anybody help me out in installing the graphics driver for the GPU above...

I dont think theres a problem with the Nvidia 7150 . ive used Ubuntu 8.04 sme time ago and I believe it worked fine for me. Did you try installing the restricted drivers. Maybe posting the error message would help more ?

can u guide me how to install the restricted driver... And did u try it on Nvidia 7150...

Click on Administration->Synaptic
Search and install

nvidia-glx-new

Reboot
