Default No USB Hard Disk!!


I have a usb hard disk, which really is an internal drive with casing. Well the problem is that whenever i connect it to my comp. fedora does nothing, it doesnīt even show an error. i donīt know what to do as most of my music lies in that drive. Please HELP!!

iīm using fedora core 9. it says command not found when i type fdisk -l.

Use this in Terminal

su
and enter the root password to have root privilege ,then use
Code:
fdisk -l

ok..... so now i can see my usb drive in the terminal, but how to mount it and make fedora mount it automatically whenever i connect it. Also i still donīt know why the drive is still not shown in the places menu ??

nah its not.

You have to edit /etc/fstab file and make an entry for that hard drive

What is the Hard Disk's format? ntfs/fat?

the usb drive has 4 partitions(as it was formerly an internal drive) and all of them are FAT32.

What is the output of fdisk -l and blkid with the drive connected?

or use
ls /dev/disk/by-uuid
to get the UUID of the partitions
