Default How to install flock 1.2 in fedora

Downloaded tar.gz file from flock's official site. I have tried the usual method of
Quote:
./configure
make
make install
and

Quote:
./flock
in terminal as root but none is working.

The second one says

Quote:
[root@localhost flock]# ./flock
./flock-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
libstdc++ is available.

Please help.

Are u sure libstdc++ is available?
Try "rpm -qa | grep libstdc" n give the output here. If its not there, u can install via " yum install compat-lib* ".

rpm -qa lists all the packages, output piped (|) to
grep libstdc search for the pattern "libstdc"
and listing if found

^^......

@thinkfree : Try " yum install compat-lib* " n then try flock n the whole installation again perhaps if necessary.
