Good write up , but you're wrong here :

Compiz was first Composite Manager for X Windows System developed by Novell.

xcompmgr and metacity were the first composite window managers.
Its debatable though , as to which is the first composite window manager.

Although Xfwm is the first 'stable' composite manager.
Also , you should mention that Beryl was indeed a fork of Compiz.

Compiz is the first '3D' composite window manager.
