Default how to install Ubuntu


I have downloaded file for ubuntu but it is in .iso format how can i install it

1. Follow this guide and make a bootable CD. {Burning Ubuntu ISO files onto a CD}
2. Boot through the live CD and assure whether all your hardware are detected.
3. If all your hardware are functioning, install it in your system using the live CD installer

P.S: PM a mod to move this to the Open Source section. You will have better responses

I think using vmware would be good option for this guy.. Or there is a possibility of asking how to recover data from partition..

If you are using Windows already, then try using Wubi installer. It can install Ubuntu from .iso file itself, so you dont need to write it back on a CD. Get Wubi from the following website:

http://wubi-installer.org/
