I was trying to install GenTube in Mandriva,, but i was getting an error msg, please have a look at to this image and please help me if i am doin anything wrong. Any reply would be appriciated.

Well, one more question, am new to linux and just wondering that where should i look for the installed applications. i mean where can i find that GenTube application?

It should be in the KDE menu, search it or simplly type gentube & in terminal, of course if the name of the binary is gentube
It may hav documentation file with the archive, see wat all things are there in.

I havent heard of gentube previously May be u could use firefox extensions to download youtube vids

Open the Terminal Window (Konsole in KDE), become the 'root' user to install/remove
applications

$ su -

(Enter root password)

# cd <path to application>

Now make it executable, if it isn't.

# chmod a+x gentube.sh

Now install the application:

# ./installgentube.sh

After the installation is complete, logout (root)

# exit

To Run GenTube:

1. Copy the url of the video in youtube
2. $ ./gentube.sh
3. Then select the video"
4. Put the url of the video in the input textfield
5. Put the name of the video ( myvideo)

Note: All downloads will go to this directory: '/home/<UserName>/GenTube'

yeah I know Miro but FF works like charm for me.

Even there is a plugin to watch youtube vids in Totem.
