Question I am not able to intall UBUNTU version 5.10
Hi guys i am trying to install UBUNTU version 5.10 but i getting an error.

My PC cofigration is :
AMD ATHLON 64 x 2 4200
ASUS M2N-MX
1 GB DDR 2 667 Mhz
320 GB WESTERN DIGITAL HDD
SONY DRU 170 AW DVD writer


When i tried to insatll UBUNTU i got following error

After that nothing happens and i am not able to nderstand what this error message wanted to say.So please give instruction how to solve this problem.

I found somewhere in this forum that there is some compiability issue with AMD and Ubuntu. In this regard I think Praka123 will guide you better. Wait till his reply.

Thats an old distro that you are using. Get the new Ubuntu - Gutsy Gibbon.

The support on this version stopped, now this is a obsoulte version.
Install the Latest version

like others said upgrade to latest Ubuntu.hoary hedgehog is really old now(5.10).
still,
when u boot with the 5.10 cd,in the "boot:" prompt,type:
Code:
noacpi noapm noapic irqpoll
and press ENTER to boot.
I think I had PMed u back

"could not find kernel image : noacpi"

Ubuntu 5.10 reaches end-of-life on April 13th 2007

Download & install latest Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
