Default tracing route

traceroute is returning all lines of asterisks for me when applied on any ip or domain name....only my router's part comes then the destination at last filled by lines of asterisks..is it coz dataone doesn't allow traceroute?

I have heard some sites don't allow it..but then i tried an online one to trace to mine tat too with asterisk in final part where i suppose they enter bsnl areas of routers....

am i correct?

There's http://www.traceroute.org , http://network-tools.com
But I believe all of those will trace the route from their server to the required site/domain.
