Fc7 gets halted...

Fedora 7 always gets halted when i try to shutdown,..i hav to manually switch off the cpu.. any guesses what might be the problem?

acpi is not enabled i suppose.edit ur grub as root and in

title Fedora7
kernel /...... <==this line append "acpi=on" ofcorz without quote.

then save,exit and reboot to see whether it works or not,
BTW,which mobo do u have?
and u can edit with gedit as by press ALT+F2 to get "run"

gksu gedit /boot/grub/grub.conf

^^^run this command to edit the file.

$> alias halt=poweroff

If that works, put it in your .shellrc file.

thanks guys, i will try.... but i edited the grub.conf, to increase countdown for loading fedora by automatic....
i doubt, since then only, this halting problem has turned out... donno how....
