Default What Linux software do you use?

So guys...

Now that we have such a large Open Source(read:Linux) Community here at Linux,

I wanna ask a oft-repeated question.
Of course I already searched for it and found no existance of earlier such questions in the Open Source Sub-Forum...

What are the S/W(readackages) you use in your Linux Distro.

Please give with Description as lesser g33ks like me can learn more of it..

Well since I have been having frequent Linux crashed(thanks to me... )
I have not really been able to work much on Linux OSes...

So, I pass the baton onto other Linux g33ks a.k.a ppl like Pradeep, GNUrag, TuxFan(TuxPapa?) and so on...

Please compile a HUGE list...

Well, my small list...
Kaffeine Player (Media Player)
Mozilla FireFox (Browser)
Mozilla ThunderBird (Mail,RSS)
Kynaptic (Package Manager)....

Please continue...

The most important package/tool that linux offers is gcc and gdb (the c debugger) the best c compiler that exists in the world. It is the most used package on my PC second is open office followed by vmware (for all the windows stuff) , ggv and other on need basis packages like sun java tomcat etc. The linux enviorment is very condusive for the development of good clean software with complete transparacy at all stages. Multimedia well at times xine. Antivirus clamav. Browser Firefox. System monitoring ksensors and gkrellm. And most important of all terminal aterm / Eterm.

Excuse me @shwetanshu?
I thought the very purpose of this thread was to see what S/W others used on linux and not to get your problems solved?
Please post your Linux S/W only here. and please let this be a clean(read:spam-free) topic..

Also I forgot to mention...
