Mandriva 2008 - Partition Table Issues ? Warning in LFY

Saw a warning in the LFY magazine DVD while I was in the super market. Something like this.

Mandriva 2008 has some installer bug - like deleting the whole partition table -, so do not try to run the text based installer. If your PC does not support Mandriva 2008 installation in graphics mode, do not try the text based install etc.

Anyone installed Mandriva 2008 ? Anyone tried the text based install ? The warning is true ?

Um looks like the guy screwed up something (Or his partition table was weird, whatever).

Cause the only thread related to this I found, was by Atanu Datta

And strangely enough, a lone related bug report too had the EXACT details by a member called swapnil (Or is that swap nil ? )

Is this Antanu guy the author of the article himself? Cause I don't see _anyone_ else reporting this issue. Neither on the bugzilla nor the forums.

I remember Fedora Core 2 or 3 having some such bug which used to make some alteration in the partition table thus making windows unbootable.
Just check mandriva site and see if there's a workaround.
And is 2008 final released? I thought it was on 17th.

Hmm, seems its a LFY problem only !!!

Atanu Datta and swapnil, both belongs to LFY !

So no others had the problem, so LFY scaring people for no reason ? Anyway I have the ISO but I got it with PCQ magazine (no warning in that though).

No. I think it is released. Atleast this months PCQ and LFY magazine carry Mandriva 2008.

WEll The DVD ended up with a fatal error/ and installation stopped here Well I reported it hope to get the DVD

PCQ one or LFY one ? Which mag DVD ?

I booted from the lfy dvd and I got a fatal error and the installation stopped.The same has happened to me in Mandrake 2006/2007. Only in 2007 Spring one the installation works which I downloaded on my own.
