fsck died ? Ugrent help needed!

I installed Sabayon it took away my grub . I restored it sucessfully but after the restorationg file system check starts and at 90~% its give an errror fsck dies at 8 or 4 . and when I bypass the error and load the desktop then I got shocked none of my Hard disk was mounted How to get rid of this error and problem.. I have run fsck after the error its ran a wizard which fixed many files but was unable to solve the problem

if u can boot on to gutsy,unmount ur sabayon partitions.then run "sudo fsck -f /dev/sdx" where /dev/sdx is ur sabayon partn.it seems hdd errors or fs errors.
