problem with window manager

hello digit geeks
i recently installed PCQ Linux 2005. Everything went superb for one day........... but the next day as i logged in as root ,nothing came on desktop. When i ran Mplayer and minimized it.......... nothing came on the taskbar.......... now when i click on show desktop an error message comes saying that no window manager!!!!!!!! now wats that??????? plz geeks help me........... my linux experience is never been good, every time I have installed linux something has happened which had not proven good 4 me.

is there a switchdesk utility in it? try switching the window manager.. which manager is running right now?

i m quite new to these linux based terms.... can u explain it a bit more!!!! how can i switch between managers???

Do u getting any menus?? Did u altered something when u was root?? A root user can destroy anything.

If nothing is wrong with the installation u can do the following..
When entering the Username & Password screen
u can also select the session (look for the option session. There select KDE or GNOME).
