I got the foll config

intel 810 mobo

logitech serial mouse connected to com1

I tried everything but still no success the mouse pointer runs off the screen even if i touch the mouse and the screen resolutions i get is at most 640x480 man thats bad. Any solutions ??

Do this, at the command prompt, type this (as root) -

xorgsetup

It should detect your display card and mouse, and generally everything should go well. If there is still some trouble, try

xorgconfig

This tool will proceed to ask you some questions about your mouse, monitor, graphics card etc.

If yet there are troubles, do post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file here, and do llok at the docs here - http://www.slackware.com/config/x.php

For soundcard detection, run -

alsaconf

Again as root.

It should detect your soundcard properly.

Well thats good to hear

I always liked slackware for its simplicity and speed ...

You can find some good documentation at the main slackware site -

http://www.slackware.com/install/
http://www.slackware.com/config/

Then there is the slackware "book" which has a lot if useful info -

http://www.slackware.com/book/

A more updated (unofficial) revision of the book is here -

http://slackbook.lizella.net/

This excellent collection of slackware tips -

http://members.cox.net/laitcg/new/intro.html

Lastly, check the slackwar forum at LinuxQuestions -

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...php?forumid=14

Hope this helps ye.
