OMG Berly run on my comp :yahoo: Now the problem .. idon't know much shortycuts plz help me

and the screen are above all windows so how can make them behind all windows ) Thanks berly is cool

Also how to change the top and bottom image of cube i.e Berly atm

Also plz tell me how to add objects in Kiba dock

Drggaing and adding did not work

See the blac border are appearing how can I remove them in screen shot

Bump plz help

goto " beryl settings manager ", u will get everything their, shortcut/all commands, and many extra stuff. similarize with beryl its easy to manage.

and abt Kiba some of the features are not enable like water effect .. Now if I enable it . with shift + F9 it did not start

goto beryl settings manager-->Extras--> check on water effects.

shortcuts for making shortcuts of watter effect where cursor is pointing == ctrl + superkey/window key.

shift +f9 == multiple water effect
shift + f8 == erasing water effect.
if u want even windows water effect then
beryl settings manager-->Extras--> water effects-->window wave, check all.

settings manager > cube. for the background set a skydome. also, i suggest using avant window navigator instead of kiba dock. thats more stable.

^^ Yep I was wondering about the same. I used Beryl and someone suggested Compiz.. and I was not disappointed. Compiz-Fusion is much stable than breyl and the effects are also very smooth compared to beryl. Also most of the settings are very similar if not the same.

Intel Pentium D 3.06
Intel Original 101Ggc Mobo
1 GB DDR
NO GRAPHICS CARD !!!!

But have ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 SERIES onboard graphics!

Can I run Beryl or Compiz on my computer ???

I believe AIGLX works fine with radeon driver.
And XGL should work with fglrx driver, but I am not sure if fglrx is well supported by this card.
Just google around a bit, you should find which driver will be better.
Beryl and compiz are outdated, go for compiz-fusion.

guys just now installed compiz-fusion, its very stable when compared to beryl, compiz in workin, it smoother, sexy and hot.

those who r installing beryl or compiz, dont go for either of them, instead install compiz-fusion.

Water effect shows me error.

shirish, ur onboard video is not fully supported by the opensourc radeon driver (no 3d, only 2d accel). you'll need to use fglrx and xgl to run compiz/beryl.

stay away from water effect. it won't run anyways. my emperical conclusion says beryl is better for older hardware.

the normal, window effects (minimize/shadow/wobble), the desktop cube, a bit of transperencies is all that will run smoothly. u may try other effects too and post about ur experience here so that it benefits others. these are the effects which i've seen run smoothly on a config like urs.

goto compiz settings and set the horizontal desks to 4. also enable the cube and rotate cube option.

But now the problem is that I don't have a broadband connection. So can't update the Ubuntu. I'm sure that updates are hundreads of MBs.

what to do now? I have Ubuntu 7.04 DVD

what version of ubuntu do you run? hey jus follow that guide. the only big download is the ati driver. download that article. ur gfx card can be setup offline. goto some cyber cafe and download all the resources. i hope you haf at least one of the composite managers installed. even if not its not a very big download (~8mb or so) which is one time download.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04. Even if I have the ATI Drivers for Linux, I can't install it. After running that shell script, it shows a window titled message with a button nothing on it. After clicking on that button window closes.

What to do now ??

Can anyone provide step by step procedure ??? Please..... I'm gonna crazy for those Desktop effects....
