Linux Installation on SATA Drives

Pls tell me which version of Linux is compatible with sata hard drives.also tell me if there is any other procedure of installing linux os on sata hard drives.also tell me all the different compatible linux versions.

the recent ones or the latest ones of all the distro's support sata hdd.
if ur a newbie then install Linux mint / Ubuntu.

and plz also tell what all do u except from the Distro. That would make us easier to decide which is good for u and simple.
