I am using gedit to do some basic javascript practice. Gedit automatically stores the older versions of the file with a "tidle" after the extention eg: "file.js~" These dont show up in nautilus but get uploaded via ftp, which is very irritating. How do i get rid of them? imm currently using the command: Code:
rm -i *.js~ Screenshot:

This is the default behavior of gedit. I suggest you keep it like that. Anyway, if you want to disable it, Edit->Preferences->Editor->Create a backup copy (untick).
