how get a list of build essential for ubuntu

hi
i have Ubuntu 7.04 but canot dowload anything at home..
i tried installing some pacages but thr r some dependancies which i need to meet..
& i heard thts only possible after installing the BUILD esential with sme command which is easily available on the ubuntu guides..
but the prob is i dont have a internet connection at home to run this command..
i download stuff at cybercafe get it & install it..
so is thr a way i can find a list of essential components i need to download to get the audio & video codecs installed also i need to install media players like VLC etc..

build-essentials is available in the feisty cd itself.

you can install build-essential from the live cd
sudo apt-cdrom add
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install build-essential
