Default nvidia driver help

wt do i do..????
cant manage to install drivers...
runnin fedora 7
gfx card= xfx8600GT

open terminal and type init 3 and then start ur installation.....

if u still have problem then post here.

u need to exit x
in fedora this can be done
by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 to go to console
login and then type
init 3
this will exit X
and now try to install the drivers

did u tried in a terminal as root user and which distro(linux brand )

In GNU/Linux distro is the word! for different flavours of same OS.

for installing in fedora,u may need to login as root and start the installer.
from login screen login as root,then try the installer
edit:U can go through mauriett miranda's page for fedora 7 on almost every thing u need to!

arey! u shud have configured yum(like windows update service in windows) for fedora!it automatically can install nvidia drivers!

and research in GOOGLE,configuring yum in fedora 7
supposing u got internet configured on Fedora

configured.. but now my monitor doesnt supp resolution..
damn gotta edit xorg..

u can refer my /etc/X11/xorg.conf for debian/ubuntu at

btwn http://ubuntuguide.org nicely explains configuring twin monitors if that is ur case.
