how 2 get Internet connection in UBUNTU..?

will someone help me out plz....
i m new 2 linux...still i was able 2 install ubuntu 7.04 without any problems...
but i dont know how 2 connect 2 internet using it... can u guyz (or gals) help me out...

plz mention d MINUTEST details.. both 4 DIAL-UP n BSNL ADSL BROADBAND connection
