Smile Wats the differnce b/w Ubuntu & Ubuntu


Whats the difference between Ubuntu x86 PC Edition and 64 Bit PC Edition

i know that 64 Bit Edition is for AMD 64Bit and EM64T CPU's.

Whats the difference?

One is for 64 bit processors, other is for 32 bit ones.

No difference , they're just compiled for defferent instruction sets , that's it .

64-bit as of now faces problems like flash not supported(but u can try gnash-free player),win32codecs not running .although may be some workarounds available(chroot?) .as for now for a desktop user if he got a 64-bit capable hardware go for 32-bit one.it supports multimedia better.but its upon u.

Some distros do support having both 32-bit and 64-bit libraries together, there you can easily use flash player and such softwares which don't work on 64-bit.
