Default Upgrade to feisty fwan using Live CD?


I have Ubuntu Edgy
I got live cd of feisty fawn in Shipit offer.
How do I upgrade without using Internet.
I wanna upgrade from Live CD.

just pop in the feisty cd into a running edgy session.it will add feisty into ur sources.list and u can use from menu System>administration>synaptic to upgrade available packages.for some packages may be kept.

No, you cannot upgrade from the live CD. You would need the Alternate CD for an upgrade

Does anybody know a hack to upgrade without alternate cd.
I cannot upgrade from Live CD.

you cannot upgrade using a live CD. LiveCDs use cloop compressed filesystem drivers to get the program binaries extracted on the fly while you boot it.

While for upgrading packages on the harddisk, you will need the individual deb packages, which can only be obtained from internet or using alternate CD/DVD.

Yes,right there with livecd.
I meant to say that many packages can be updated to feisty versions in an edgy.try inserting a Debian CD/DVD or any Ubuntu CD/DVD and Ubuntu will ask whether this cd/dvd to be added to current /etc/apt/sources.list.thats what i point to.
