No chance of sata support in redhat 9(old 2.4v kernel also).
Its very hard to get support in redhat 9 with sata although it s possible theoretically @tleast its a very old distro.get urself Redhat 9's successor Fedora(2.6v kernel) 7!ofcourse all new Linux distros like Ubuntu,debian,sabayon,opensuse supports sata very well even can smart enabled. http://fedora.redhat.com ^^^ newer redhat Linux is called fedora. http://ubuntu.com (even u'll get a free Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 shipped to yo address) http://debian.org http://whylinuxisbetter.net Hope U find ur soltn.redhat 9 really doesnt show what GNU/Linux stands in 2007 challenging Windows VIsta in evey aspects with cool beryl/compiz 3d and No VIRUSes (actually Linux is virus proof by architecture) and a UNIX like architecture which is pioneer in security. http://fsf.org
