How to Install Linux & Windows in a same Hard Disc?

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me how to safetly install Windows XP and Linux, so that i can get booted into one i prefer.. I would like to have both. And also Tell me how to Install Linux without Damaging my current Windows XP installation. And i would like to install a classy interface linux, no RedHat please, tell me one that Digit provides....

Make partitions of your HDD. Format one of the drive to NTFS/FAT in which you want to install Windows. The other partition for linux may be left unformatted. Install Linux in it.
