Re: Connetion prob. On linux
2. Did u select desktop install for suse? May be tahts y it got over with 3 cds. Try "Install everything". It may utitlize ur all the 5 cds. But then again, its better that u choose which softwares u wanna install instead of installing everything. Its good if u wanna save hdd space. But if u got a carefree attitude as mine then go ahead install everything!

Which internet connection do you have? We don't have telepathic powers
I think the 6th CD has non-free softwares, like flash, java, win32codecs and such. Open YAST and try to see what all entries are in there.

http://arcanecode.wordpress.com/2007...-step-by-step/
I think u have to chose "other", and then u might have options to select packages. Also AFAIK, u can select packages after clicking the "change" option (above abort).
http://arcanecode.files.wordpress.co...ensuse-072.jpg.
But I believe there's no need to do all that now, as I think u can select all the packages from Yast! Don't bother urself with it too much, just spend some time with suse/yast and u'll research everything by urself.
BTW, I also didn't have Linux as a part of my curriculum.

Also, there's a sticky thread in this section on BSNL. I don't understand what's the problem in reading stickies?
