Default redhat linux problem

I am having dual operating systems in my system, windows xp and redhat linux 9.0.
Iam having problem with my linux os.
My kernel version of linux is 2.4.My boot loader is GRUB and all the bootable files for
the kernel2.4 is in the /BOOT folder.Recently I tried to install the kernel version2.6,
and i configured it properly and all the things went fine. But the problem is
i don,t know how to modify grub.conf and i also want to know what are all the
bootable files for this new kernel version2.6 i need to copy to the /BOOT folder
so that during booting it will show me the option to choose both the kernel versions.Hence the
modification of grub.conf will show entry for both the kernel versions.
