Post RHL 8.0:Respawning too fast.


I am using RH linux 8.0. When I rebooted the system graphical login not came. message "Init id Respawning too fast disabled for 5 minutes" coming. Eventhough i changed the init run level to 3 from 5 the same message comes. I cannot get into x-windows. Can anybody give me a solution Please...?

RH8.0 is just too old to be used now. Try latest versions yaar. I suggest ubuntu 6.10 or Suse 10.2 or FC6 or PCLinuxOS BigDaddy etc.

Did you make any changes in the graphics settings or added new graphics card etc?
Reinstall the Linux graphics driver and see if it solves your problem.
If you never installed Linux drivers, cheek the manufacturer website for the graphics card / onboard whatever you are using and see if any driver is available for Linux.
Install /reinstall the same and follow the documentation to set the parameters in xf86config file or any other graphics setting.
