Angry Fedora 6 post installation problems

Hi, I installed fedora core 6, now when i start, the screen goes blank and stays like that giving me no choice but reboot. This happens just a few seconds after that "Press I for interactive mode" message appears.

>I have done the media check and it passed
>I have / and /home as two seperate ext2 partitions
>Tried entering rescue mode, thought it was graphics problem, but couldn't edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf file coz it shows no such file or directory (weird )

I'm sure its installed properly.
Mine is Intel 845G, P4 2.4Ghz, 256MB RAM, dual boot with Windoze XP as the other OS

What's the partition size allocated to /
And make one partition for swap or else your computer won't be able to handle with just 256mb of RAM.
Also, it's better to use ext3 for it' journalling support.

I forgot to mention, I have kept 512MB for swap, 7GB for / & 3GB for /home
I have formatted both as ext2.
