>I have done the media check and it passed >I have / and /home as two seperate ext2 partitions >Tried entering rescue mode, thought it was graphics problem, but couldn't edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf file coz it shows no such file or directory (weird )I'm sure its installed properly. Mine is Intel 845G, P4 2.4Ghz, 256MB RAM, dual boot with Windoze XP as the other OS

What's the partition size allocated to /
And make one partition for swap or else your computer won't be able to handle with just 256mb of RAM. Also, it's better to use ext3 for it' journalling support.
