use VLC Player, that should work, it would be there on the Suse DVD.

best ones are Xine-ui player,(g)mplayer.
there are other good ones like totem player

But make sure that you install totem-xine, not totem-gstreamer.

^^ I tried though some time back.it's like old kawasaki bike(kb100)
@desert:totem-gstreamer is working fine in my debian sid+experimental.as gstreamer released v10.0 of plugins..
