Default prob wid suse 10.2 installation


i downloaded suse 10.2 dvd iso n burnt it on dvd
now when i start the installation with default options, it starts the installation. the installation just starts ok, but after a couple of mins i get error "ethtools not found". even if i try to ignore it, the installation just stops.
pls help

I guess the cd or the iso maybe corrupt. Check the md5sum or sha1sum.

when you boot into the dvd in the first screen itself at the bottom of the screen you will have the option to check the media.

by the way pc world feb issue has the bootble dvd of open suse 10.2 just get hold of one and pop it in

Try burning that iso file at lower speed 1x-4x on dvd and please verify it.
alternatively i have a method
1. Install utorrent or any of the bit torrent client
2. download the torrent file from http://www.torrentportal.com/details...86-iso.torrent
3. rename your iso file to openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-i386.iso
4. Navigate utorrent to that file and start download, i mean set the download location of utorrent to the folder where you 've saved the iso file and start the download
5. your iso will be rectified
