Which is the best distribution of linux?

I want to install linux in my computer. There are above 350 dists. of linux. Which one i should download?

Computer Conf.: p3 500m, 384m sdram, 50g hdd(10+40), 11 usb ports, cdrw52x, fdd1.44, 450w pwr, intel ac 97 sound card, intel i810 video, 10/100 lan.

I want to use it for internet, scanning, printing, images & movies from camera, see movies, listen to music, programming js, php, c, cpp, cdrw,email with trust certificate. Some popular vers. are in the poll. Vote in it. If some distribution is missing in the poll, don't inform me that i did not enter it, instead post it.

Broadband: Reliance 150kbps. Auto IP.
