Post open source ques and desktop enhancements


1. r there any open source softwarews/freewares for doctors i.e. which r helpful to docs?
2. suggest some desktop enhancement tools like 3d or anything else?
(like XGL or Compiz :-- both are for linux i suppose)
3. can beagle(a search tool) be used on Win XP Pro?
4. how to enable automatic update for OpenOffice?

4) AFAIK you can't do automatic updates check in Linux as yet.

well, any suggestions for desktop enhancement freewares?
something like XGL or Compiz but both r linux and i want windows software
OR
how to run XGL or Compiz on windows?
OR
any software that makes desktop look cool?

You can have automatic updates in Linux...I'm currently using Automatix2.
