Default Crontab command for dataone users ???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crontab
Can i use this to automatically download via Bittornado client. I tried using it for updating automatically at 2:00 am but it didn't work. Just didnt start. This is what "crontab -l" said:
0 2 * * * aptitude -y update && aptitude -y upgrade && aptitude -y dist-upgrade && aptitude -y autoclean >/dev/null 2>&1 # update, /usr/share/icons/gnome/48x48/mimetypes/gnome-mime-application.png

What could be the prob? And please tell me about using it for bittornado. You know this will be really useful for dataone users.
*Hope this is the right section for this*
