Default FC6 or suse 10.1 or other


Hi friends,
I am new to linux & i wanna install a good linux.
I want to ask which is better distro among fc6 , suse or any other in terms of appearance, userfriendly as i am new to linux.

plz suggest a good distro.

if you are new.. i would really like to suggest you Ubuntu 6.10
its updated twice a year and hasa huge following and hailed by many

Yes. You can go for Ubuntu. But be careful when doing the partitioning.

Try a livecd and once all your hardware works install it..
Also i would suggest PCLInuxOS as it has all the apps preinstalled .IT would save time installing all the plugins and other software u need..

I suggest OpenSuSE 10.1 remastered; most of it is GUI configuration.

Well also want to know is it true that to install a software on linux u have to type some command.
if yes,then plz suggest the most user friendly linux out of sus10.1 ,fc6 & ubuntu.
i have suse & fc6 , is ubuntu is really user friendly than these distro ?

well i have suse 10.1 live dvd iso file.
now how to use it
i have mounted it with demon tools then some folders & files appears,so wht to do with it.
plz tell me

You have to boot from it! Not mount it in Daemon tools! When your PC starts, enter the BIOS by pressing <del> or <f2> and change the boot device priority to boot from CD ROM.

well i have booted from dvd but now after booting it is asking ,
1.boot suse linux gnu or kde.
i have tried both but after loading kernel some error occurs and it stops there.
wht does this mean.
i am having core 2 duo e6600 proccy,
asus p5b mobo,
1gb ddr2 667mhz ram,
is my hardware compatible with suse .

in my xperiense it was ths best ...500 better than any other distro
