Default Mozilla Thunderbird backup/restore

I made a backup of my mail and settings of Mozilla Thunderbird0.8 in
my windows98. I formatted my system and reinstalled Windows98SE and
Debian Linux. I installed Mozilla Thunderbird1.0 in my Windows system
and I have downloaded some mails. The problem is how do I import the
old mails along with the current mails. Is it possible??

Default thunderbird?

well, you should have installed Mozbackup available somewhere on the net. It does backups of firefox and thunderbird and restores them to copies you wouldn't believe are different in any way, and it does that in 6, no, 7 seconds...

Its ok. I have restored the backup and I used a bit of common sense.
And Mozbackup is in the final release1.4 as the author has stopped further developments.

Default Mozilla thunderbird Backup!!!!!

Hi

I can suggest you a better shortcut to get all your mails and settings. Copy .thunderbird directory fully in a safe location. Now when you install fresh linux install thunder bird and just creat a fake email acc. afterwards copy the contents of all the .thunderbird in the new .thunderbird directory. and restart your thunderbird

And you are off.

You will find all your mails and mail settings with the filters you created. You want be required to again creat your mail accounts which you created earlier.
