xine demuxer problem
I just installed on my FC5 (64 bit) distro. The installation went smoothly, but I'm getting an error. I'm posting the screenshot here. Please tell me what it means and how I can correctly.
Thanks in advance

Re: xine demuxer problem
What file are you trying to open? Are all codecs installed?

Re: xine demuxer problem
I get it as soon as I open Xine. I don't know if all the codecs are installed. How do I check it? Doesn't Xine install all the codecs?

Re: xine demuxer problem
No xine doesn't install all the plugins when installed. I don't know much about 64-bit OS's. But have heard that there are some problems with it. Maybe someone will help with that part.

I installed VLC player, but it closes immediately when I choose a file to play. Should I start a new thread on this or can you guys help me out here itself?

Re: xine demuxer problem
Also issue command 'xine-check' in the terminal and see if that gives anything missing.
__________
For thumbnails upload the pic to some site like imageshack.us and it will give you a link to post in forums, use that.

Here's the output of that command.
Please be patient, this script may take a while to run...
[ good ] you're using Linux, doing specific tests
[ good ] looks like you have a /proc filesystem mounted.
[ good ] You seem to have a reasonable kernel version (2.6.18-1.2239.fc5)
[ hint ] Architecture is x86_64 (not intel), assuming there is no MTRR.
MTRR (Memory Type Range Registers) are used on intel CPUs to
control caching mechanisms for special memory ranges. There is
probably nothing like this on x86_64 CPUs...
press <enter> to continue...
[ good ] found the player at /usr/local/bin/xine
[ good ] /usr/local/bin/xine is in your PATH
[ good ] found /usr/local/bin/xine-config in your PATH
[ good ] plugin directory /usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.2 exists.
[ good ] found input plugins
[ good ] found demux plugins
[ good ] found decoder plugins
[ good ] found video_out plugins
[ good ] found audio_out plugins
[ good ] skin directory /usr/local/share/xine/skins exists.
[ good ] found logo in /usr/local/share/xine/skins
[ good ] I even found some skins.
[ good ] /dev/cdrom points to /dev/hda
[ good ] /dev/dvd points to /dev/hda
[ good ] DMA is enabled for your DVD drive
[ good ] found xvinfo: X-Video Extension version 2.2
[ good ] your Xv extension supports YV12 overlays (improves MPEG performance)
[ good ] your Xv extension supports YUY2 overlays
[ good ] Xv ports: RGBA RGBT RGB2 YUY2 UYVY YV12 I420

I used an imaging hosting site to hotlink that image which I have posted there. Next time, I'll just post the link

Oops!! I thought I could squeeze the juice of my processor with the 64 bit edition as I still can't afford a 64 bit Windows Ed. Too bad. Probably I'll try something from 32 bit stables next time on Linux..

Re: xine demuxer problem
You can install 32-bit Linux. It will work perfectly in a 64-bit Processor. That should solve your multimedia problems.

Re: xine demuxer problem
64-bit computing is a while away still IMO. Maybe about 6 months max.
