Default Ubuntu 6.10 install

I had dowloaded 6.10 for AMD64 from ubuntu.com . But the problem is that I have only 256 MB of RAM and 32 mb is shared with onboard graphics thus leaving me with only 224 MB of RAM. Thus while installing the live interface becomes irritaing and takes ages to move to next step. Plz help me to insatll it in text mode or without booting into live mode. Thanx in advance.

Better add another 512 MB RAM ( you already have 256 MB).After adding it, you can
allocate 256 MB RAM for onboard Graphics. It gives excellent Graphics!!
Ubuntu needs atleast 256 MB RAM. The more RAM you add the faster it becomes.

And I'd advise you to keep away from 6.10 and it's too much on the edge. Many people have been said to have problems with it's Xserver. And if I have got it right then the ubuntu never shipped 6.10 cd cos it's too cutting edge and 6.06 will have support for a few more years.

Nishant_Nms - If you can, do download the Alternate version of the Ubuntu ISO, its a direct text mode installer, no live CD in it.
