Unhappy What is Packman and how do I use it?

I keep reading this Packman package installer or something on every other forum. I am running SuSE 10.1 and can't play mp3s. I have posted this question at numerous forums and the only suggestion I'm getting is, install packman, install packman. I downloaded and installed. Now how am I supposed to use it to update my audio player, in my case, amarok so that it can work fine with mp3s????

Packman is the name of a repository! Best is to install smart, it has the packman repository in-built.

Hmmmm......thanks guys!! I downloaded packman and installed it, but when it performs an upgrade for a particular application, say amarok, in my case, it couldn't download a lot of dependencies as it showed as connection stalled. I got broadband internet and made sure that there are no other downloads going in the back ground. So, there was not an upgrade. Could you please tell me what the reason could be?
