Exclamation RPM Query?

I am new to linux. I has just installed FC5. Now My 1st query is what is 'RPM'.2nd is where can i find this software & 3rd how can i do install this software. Plz help me . And don't ask me to search the forum I had tried it and I got more confused. Plz explain in detail and step by step. I had always been a Windows fan and I hope that all of u out there will convert me into a linux fan.ThanX 4 reply.

to upgrade

to install new rpm file.

or double click on rpm file it will start installation wizard. same as windows installation wizard

The 'u' in the upgrade command is supposed to be 'U' ie capitalized. Just thought I should point it out.

RPM stands for Redhat Package Manager. It's used by RPM-based Linux distros like
RHEL, Fedora, Suse, & Mandriva Linux etc.,
Just follow what @Sykora has said to install RPM packages in Fedora.

For installing other packages in Fedora Linux , read the Sticky , Click here

Under 'Fedora' Checkout the Stanton Finley Notes.It's has everything you need
to play VCD/DVD, MP3 etc., in Fedora Core 5.
