Yes, Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft has been released. I'm downloading it.
@Kalpik, Where did you get that download URL link from? The Ubuntu website still shows the same Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake links for download!!

I got them from "internal" sources.. Haha.. actually got it from a thread at ubuntu forums.
Some more links: ftp://ftp.ukc.mirrorservice.org/site...ntu.com/.pool/ http://releases.ubuntu.com/.pool/ Both have both the RC and final version. Be sure to download the final one! (it does not have rc in the filename. |

@Kalpik, Thanks for the information. Yes, Kalpik is right. Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (Long Term Support).
So if you order online you'll get Ubuntu 6.06, not Ubuntu 6.10!! @Saurabh.sauron, To upgrade Ubuntu 6.06 to Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft), open the Terminal WIndow & type: $ gksu "update-manager -c -d" This will upgrade Ubuntu to the latest Ubuntu 6.10 NOTE: You must be running Ubuntu 6.06 for this to work

^^ The recommended way is what JGuru told. Only the correct command is gksu "update-manager -c"
The -d switch checks for development builds too! And we dont want you to get RC instead of the final! Anyway, just installed edgy (im on it right now) and its working marvelously! |

Yeah, @Mehul likes to work a bit more to get things done. He likes it that way.

Hmm I guess it won't so be useful to you gx. This release has been more focussed on improvements that you as an end user will rarely see. The changes will be more exciting to developers and Open Source enthusiasts.
Well, the next release, Feisty, will be focussing more on multimedia, hardware support and a lot more. Read this https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ub...er/000212.html. So, it will be Feisty that we might see some really great changes, if they get to their goals.
