Angry how to reset the linux passwd


i forgot my redhat linux passwd.pliz any body help me to how reset the linux passwd.

u forgot the root passwd????
if yes , try this:
When ur system starts , select(not enter) Red hat out of DOs and red hat.
Now press "e" , now out of three options go to second and again press "e" , now append " 1" without quotes at the end of this line. now press "b"
then type "passwd root" , now enter new passwd.
thats it.

Now that you have got the answer I don't need to add more to it. But, it would surely help if you post in right section and search before starting a new topic. This has been answered before many times.
Also, this belongs to Open Source section rather than software troubleshooting.
