Default ZenWalk Linux LILO COnfig.

I've Installed ZenWalk Linux Recently to dual boot with WinXP.
At The LILO Screen i get two options with a timeout of 3 seconds.
By default it boots to windows.

Most of the time by the time my monitor comes to life i see windows booting.
I've tried editing the lilo.conf but its different from any other lilo.conf i've
It doesnt have a defualt option in it.
also even if i try changing the timeout and save it still shows 3 seconds at boot.

Please tell me how to change the boot timeout and set it default to ZenWalk.

Edit the lilo config file /etc/lilo.conf and change the timeout... If that doesn`t work there will be a liloconfiguration command eg.liloconfig or something.. Its there in Slackware and should be in Zenwalk as its based on Slackware..

That is because you didn't run lilo after making changes. You need to run "/sbin/lilo" (without quotes) as root after making changes to lilo.conf in order to make them active.

lilo boots the OS in the order they are mentioned in lilo.conf. Just mention Zenwalk above every other OS part and lilo will make it default. For example my lilo.conf with Gentoo as default looks like this.
Code:
boot = /dev/sdb
prompt
vga = 787
bitmap=/boot/gentoo-grey.bmp

# Gentoo bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz
  root = /dev/sdb5
  label = Linux
  append = "video=vesafb:1024x768-32@75,mtrr:3,ywrap splash=silent,fadein,theme:gentoo-grey quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1"
  read-only
  initrd = /boot/fbsplash-gentoo-grey-1024x768
# Gentoo bootable partition config ends

# Windows bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/sda1
  label = Windows
  boot-as = 0x80
  table = /dev/sda
# Windows bootable partition config ends

# Slackware bootable partition config begins
image = /mnt/slack/boot/bzImage-2.6.17-beyond3
  root = /dev/sdb1
  label = Slackware
  read-only
# Slackware bootable partition config ends
