Default WD 80 gb ata hdd not detected by RH9

i have a HP d290 PC which one have a WD 80 GB ATA HDD. But when i tried to install RedHat 9 and RedHat Ent Client, it was not detected. wht should i do. but it was detected by Fedora 4

RH9 and RHEL3 are based on linux kernel 2.4 which will not support sata detection.try RHEL4 or FC5 or Debian Etch

try "linux install noprobe".........mine wasnt detected too with FC5! But was installed easily afterwards with this.
